That 50th anniversary ship has sailed unfortunately.
Not sure why they are not releasing it. Was there ever a new scan done?

finally, the "start" of TWB thread in 4K UHD section of Blu-Ray forum itself is the very testament of this ( as if to say "too little, too late")!

This, Tombstone and OUATITW are my top 3 4K dreams. Kind of makes me sick seeing dreck get 4K announcements and still no love for a classic like this.

Yup, The Wild Bunch is a bloody masterpiece (in both senses of the word), one of my all time favourites. The old Blu-ray doesn't look that bad, but it's a bit long in the tooth now (over-sharpened, the way they all were then). With all the improvements over the years, a new 4K transfer from the OCN should look great. This film certainly deserves it.

Gonna disagree with you there. Looks atrocious. This is my most wanted 4K upgrade. One of my favorite movies.

Seconded. An absolute disgrace of a blu for such a film. Deserves a thousand times better.

Just noticed that Park Circus has a DCP for this. They will be showing it in 70mm at Hollywood’s Egyptian Theatre as part of their “Ultra Cinematheque 70 Fest 2024” in two weeks. Could this finally mean a 4K disc version is on the way?!

It doesn't say anything about it being a 4K DCP, but it would be weird to show a 2K DCP printed to 70mm film...

Maybe that's just an existing 70mm print that is not sourced from any DCP.

Anyone else feel like a 4K is never going to happen? And yes, I am attempting to jinx it into life.

Yeah, & this year is the centenary of Sam Peckinpah's birth, born 21st Feb. 1925.
