I love "...more storage and rocketing 2:1 sales ratio advantage over HD DVD. Those are bullshit arguments." That and, "RIP HD DVD, the People's Format." Looks like twice as many people liked Blu-ray, so to the author, you're an ass.

Ah, tantrums make me smile.

I am amazed at the talking points and how weak they are. I am also amazed at some of the remarks responders made. HD DVD is "supposedly" final spec but one of the most important specs that I found that did it for me over HD DVD was that all Blu-ray players were 1080p compliant. A2's were launched with only a maximum of 1080i and then they released 1080p months later down the road. I'm sorry but if you label a completed spec by things you can conveniently immediately provide on all your machines you have a weak product to begin with.

I also cannot agree with how DRM played a role in this whole format battle. If people were really concerned with DRM they would not have bought Blu-ray to begin with. If this were really the case how come we saw consistent 6.5: 3.5 sales throughout the entire year? The people voiced their choice and HD DVD cannot claim it's right to the title as the people's choice.

What is it with HD-DVD owners, do they have loser tattooed across their forehead?

I'm actually glad Brian Lam's not on our side, especially after Gizmodogate. His pranks really proved how dumb the blogosphere can be.

Here's one of the funnier posts on that topic:

"My problem with Blu Ray is what the heck does BLU RAY even mean? At least with HDDVD you knew exactly what it meant. Same thing with Betamax... Betamax? What does it mean? Nobody knew then and nobody knows now"

LOL

This just goes to show the true colors of some of these "journalists." They should continue to be exposed for that sake of gaming and hi-def.

Ah, tantrums make me smile.

I was surprised that he didn't bring up attach rates - now there is a no good argument.

And I don't know about anyone else, but I never used the sales ratio for a reason why Blu-ray SHOULD win, I used it to argue why I thought they WOULD win.

ha! what a loser! he needs to get over it now, I still can't believe how only about 20% population actually care about damn extras yet all these idiots claim that just because the extras are there its the format of choice....

P.S. We have proven them wrong over and over and over again, extras aren't stopping us from winning this battle!
