Does anyone know who makes the AMC recliners?
Took my dad to go see a movie last week and now he wants the exact same seats in his HT. I'm the one who set it up in the first place. He opted to not go with dedicated HT recliners, but he's sold on these now. Talked some family members into chipping in with me for a few seats for his 60th birthday, so price really isn't too much of a concern. |

Uh, folks...he isn't talking about the thin pad seats. He is talking about, like the ones Hedji mentioned, of the plush red recliners. AMC has recently added all leather, electric seating that's pretty damn amazing and comfortable. The seats mentioned by Hedji are almost the same thing, but I believe AMC's may be a little more stiff/durable given the abuse they are designed to take. I'd look into "DREAM LOUNGE" recliners if you want the stiffness. VCF has got better seats over the years, so has Ashley/Front Room/etc, so don't think "cheap". I've had home theater leather seats from Front Room for 8 years and they are pretty much like new.
Here's an example of the AMC seats: ![]() And here's VCF: ![]() |

Last summer, while on vacation, we went to the AMC Santa Monica Promenade. Those were the most comfortable recliners I've ever experienced. Very plush, comfy, all the way around. Just like Groot posted. Highly recommended.

I don't know what yours are like, but I'm not a big fan of the AMC seats.
They're okay, but I don't like the way they recline, and I think many of the seats that you can buy would be better. Maybe your seats fit that description. |

Those VCF's look a whole lot like Palliser's Elite line:

Have no idea who makes AMC's recliners, but if you want a high quality recliner, look no further than American Leather ! Their Comfort Recliner is top rate and they also make sofas, love seats, etc., as well. Expensive, but the quality of construction and materials is unparalleled. The furniture industry today is like so many other industries ... mostly junk with crap construction and poor material quality.

How do you "add" d-motion? Is it expensive? Does it ruin the seat or is it removable? I saw my first D-Box movie this summer with BVS. It was awesome.
