MOON gets launch Date- January 12, 2010 - Blu-ray Forum

Per David Bowie's official website, Moon is expected to be released sometime in November on DVD & Blu-ray through Sony Pictures. November 16th is listed as the possible date, but this is a Monday, so perhaps this is the UK release date as most new releases in the USA are on a Tuesday. Moon has gotten rave reviews, and is the first major movie from director Duncan Jones (who is David Bowie's son).

Contrary to earlier reports, it seems that 'Moon' will finally see the light just before the year's out. Several retailers have Duncan Jones's science-fiction movie (which just won multiple awards at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, including best feature film) up for preorder on Blu-ray with a release date of December 29, which would tie in with another Sony sci-fi movie, 'District 9'.

That date is unofficial until there is a formal announcement, and pecifications and special features aren't known yet. For the details of the UK edition, see our post of October 15.

Will buy it, since it is the only way I'll get to see it in Blu.

I would love to see this on blu. Never got to see it in theaters due to the limited release, but was highly intrigued. I am excited for it to be released. I just wish it wasn't in November sometime. That month already has enough blus I want.

But of course Sam Rockwell adds his humor into it. I would say it's a blind buy. The best of 09 for me so far.
