Sony HT-SS2000 issue: - Blu-ray Forum

I apologize in advance if this is a noob question...but its driving me crazy.

I bought the Sony HT-SS2000 a couple months back and just recently when I use my PS3, none of the programmed surround sound settings work (the pre-set movie, music, AFD, etc).

They work fine when watching TV, but when I switch to "video 2" (the ps3) I can't change anything. Whenever I press one of the buttons the receiver screen displays "not used"

I'm assuming I need to change a setting on the ps3, but I've been playing around with it and cannot seem to get to work again. Does anyone have any thoughts?

I get the same problem as well..

Not sure what causes it.... My PS3 is set to Linear PCM.

Using this scenario i can't change surround settings and other stuff as well.

If I change it to bitstream it allows me to change stuff.

But i have been reading that if I have the PS3 connected to the receiver via an HDMI cable that i should use Linear PCM. Unfotunately i can't change any settings on my receiver this way

I'm going to say this is normal on Sony Receivers. I use to have that set up but bought a STR-DG810 Receiver and it does the samething. I just change it to video 1 and do all my setting changes from there and switch back to the PS3.
