Well, IMO it'd be cooler of them to use a Peter Weir movie that had been previously accepted to play at Cannes, but I guess the breadth and depth of the final scene from The Truman Show is good choice too. I assumed when I first saw them use that for the official art that maybe they were honoring the director Peter Weir with a lifetime achievement award. The last time he was recognized for anything at Cannes was in 1983 when The Year of Living Dangerously was a nominee. But no other films before or after that.
