Question about the horrible layout of “complete series”
I know that in iTunes on AppleTV the complete series appear as a long string of episodes but I have a recollection of reading in a thread here (though now cannot find it) that the appearance is different when opened in the TV app. So do they display as seasons in the TV app? Also, what is it with the horrible layout? Why not just sell the seasons as bundles? Doesn’t it cost a distributor more to add a “complete series” because they seem to be an additional season ? |

Actually it shows two different ways in the TV App.
If you go direct to library then it’s one long list from left to right, however if you use search and then select it and scroll down to the episodes, although they still go from left to right you can also switch between seasons. |

Is watch list the same as view list? I noticed if a show is in your view list and you hold drown select button then click view details it’s goes to my preferred layout as well. This clears up inconsistencies with episode order as well such as Battlestar Galactica which is a mess if accessed though the TV app Library.

That actually makes me more annoyed because clearly the layout can be adjusted by Apple. |

Once purchased the show will be in the watch list anyway and using the “view details” will be the way I would go to seasons rather than looking in the library. So at least this way the layout is done properly. Good to know. One last thing - I know On AppleTV we can mark an episode as “watched” but can we mark them as “unwatched” too ? Not that I would know, but if you select the episode and let it play for a second, it will return to unwatched status and go back into the watch list.

Vudu has the best layout when it comes to TV shows. You can buy a complete series and it will show as a one bundle on your library, but when you open the bundle, you can select episodes by season. Having said that, it's not the worst thing because most of the time, I watch tv shows in chronological order and both GooglePlay and iTunes are pretty good in tracking where you left off. Vudu is not the best as it only marks what episode you watched, so you would have to search for the next unwatched episode. So each have their ups and downs. Not sure why none of those apps can't use a similar layout like Netflix does. |
