Has anyone bought this complete pack? Can anyone share any pictures of the packaging?

I bought directly from VEI the day it came out and it arrived 6 days later. Was pleasantly surprised at how fast it came. However, was instantly worried at how heavy it was and was worried about the slipcase being damaged in transit. The carton VEI uses is double corrugated and very sturdy but they did not put any dunnage in the carton to prevent the boxset from moving around. I could see this causing potential damage for anyone who buys. Thankfully, my set came in pristine condition! Something I'm very happy for considering how much it costs (at present $199.99). Here's pics I took of the set which looks very nice.

PLEASE post pictures for SG1. I really need proof as to whether SG1 is an upscale job or an actual remaster. I don't care if they upscale the effects shots, but this would be a total waste if the first seven seasons are all just upscaled 480i.

Nevermind. Reviews on Amazon state pretty clearly that 1-7 are all upscaled. At least 8-10 will look nice.

You are the first forum member to own VEI's Stargate Atlantis release. When you get a chance, could you please check out one of the SGA discs to see if an episode has lossless audio? We don't know yet if this is a re-release of the 2011 MGM/Fox set, or if VEI encoded their own set.

There's already a thread with 30+ pages that includes images, comparisons, and reviews. But just remember, VEI pretty much only releases what they are given. MGM would've had to remaster the first seven seasons on their own, and they didn't. That still doesn't mean that upscales can't be better quality than 20+ year old DVDs.

Is this available anywhere besides directly from VEI? I’d like to pick it up but wouldn’t mind finding it with a bit of a discount somewhere.

With the price VEI has the 3 series set now its literally at a discount price at $200 because each series set single price is $130+$60+40 which would come to $230 which VEI also says on their website it a limited time price.

So anywhere else its actually going to be $230 or over which it what the sites Amazon or bluraysforeveryone is asking for this set.

Its fairly tempting to get this whole 3 series set right now because i was planing on getting the 3 series each time separately because i have none of them which International customers then have to use a damn delivery forward companys with a high cost price to use so to get this done in one fell swoop for the 3 series set turns out way cheaper.

But then we don't know a thing of what VEI has done with Stargate Atlantis set so far what with video quailty & sound quailty seeing as there is a already perfect series set of this that came out 10 years ago that can still bought.

VEI is already 2 for 2 on literally screwing up the 5.1 soundtrack for SG1 & SGU like that has to be a special kind of bad to make the sound quailty worse than dvds that came out like nearly 20 years ago.

Yeah, even at $200 it’s a a pretty good value. However, with the 5.1 audio being sharted up I think I will be holding off for the time being.

I'm leaning away from big bulky sets so I'm glad I already own the MGM Stargate Atlantis set and didn't need this. It's just a flimsy box that only serves as a container for the individual collections. If VEI had created a cool collectible single set for the entire series with better quality materials maybe I would've gone for it.

This box set makes me wish I watched the 1994 movie, SG-1, SGA, SGU & Catherine on this blu-ray set.

Just wish SG-1 was rescanned from the original 16mm (seasons 1-3) & 35mm (seasons 4-7) and rerendered from the original CGI assets to 1080p or even 4K.

I don't think any fan would disagree but sadly I just don't see it happening as it would cost millions and for the moment they don't seem to care much for the Stargate franchise.

So...a 2021 release and it doesn't have the two SG-1 movies?

How do the SG-1 blu ray episodes look? Great improvement over the DVD's? I heard the previous SG-1 series blu ray set was not much of an improvement, if at all.

VEI didn't get the license for the two movies.

And the set now is the same as the other one, they just changed the packaging.

The Atlantis BD set was (at least originally) MGM's, and so are the two movies. How could they not get the movies?

Well, I went ahead and ordered the full 3 series set from VEI since I needed SGU anyway, plus I have a bad disc in the Atlantis set that I'll probably never be able to replace and only have the SG-1 stargate box set. $169 right now, not bad.

I just have to track down the movies for a good price.
