I'm not sure when this will be released, as it just says that filming will start in spring 2018.
Kristen Stewart will play Jean Seberg (Godard's Breathless being her most famous role). The story will follow the FBI's attempts to discredit and otherwise trouble the actress once she became involved with the Black Panthers in the late 1960s. Jack O'Connell will be playing an FBI agent, while Anthony Mackie will be playing a civil rights activist (possibly a Black Panther, I'm not sure). Benedict Andrews, who directed the Rooney Mara film Una, is directing. That's all I know for now, but I'm really interested. I think Stewart is absolutely perfect casting for Jean Seberg. And her recent work has been excellent for the most part. Very exciting. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1780967/?ref_=nv_sr_2 |

And I've been meaning to see Una forever. I was hoping it would come to Netflix or Prime, but it hasn't happened. And the Blu-ray is way too expensive for a blind buy for what, as you point out, has had mixed reviews (even if Rooney and Ben are always great). Looks like I'll just have to rent it for $5.99 on Amazon. It looks like the director, Benedict Andrews, has quite the acclaimed career on the stage. Lots of Shakespeare, Genet, Chekov, Williams, etc. It's always interesting when directors come from the theater to film. My experience with theater, outside of opera, is quite minimal. So it's fascinating to me. |

Story sounds okay not Stewart is such a bad actress. Replace her and it may be okay.

I agree. They keep pushing her on the world too. Like that one used car in the corner of the dealer lot that they just can’t sell. The lime green one with crank windows, a stick shift and no air conditioning.

You said" I don't know how this could be less obvious." Should it be obvious, I don't follow?

The biggest surprise for me was that Vince Vaughn is in this and playing a secondary role at that. When did his career start stalling? At any rate I agree that KS is fantastic and gives a mesmerising performance. Too bad her last few movies have all underperformed
