Yeah, I don't get why they can't just use promotional shots for these covers. I'm sure there were many promotional pictures taken for the series that might be suitable. Or...actually hire an artist to do artwork like they used to do. (yeah, right, like that would happen with a major studio). Still, at least they've done fairly tastefully in terms of composition. They could be a lot, lot worse. And I'm glad they're continuing to follow through with the seasons. I've been enjoying my sets. |

These photo-shopped covers are becoming more of a pretty disturbing trend nowadays. It makes you wonder if they even bother to look at their 'creation' before slapping it on the cover and pressing it. Are these people total idiots, or what? I would be perfectly happy with the recycled covers from the DVD cases. At any rate, thankfully, the horrible cover art isn't a reflection of the quality of the shows contained on the discs. After watching seasons 1-5, I don't think we could have hoped for a better result.

I agree that season six was strong. Whoever reviewed the Blu-ray on this site seems to disagree, but everybody is entitled to their opinion. He thinks it falls into a rut and brings up the point of the bad guys almost always being vanquished. The point was brought up in previous season reviews that any threats are hard to take seriously because you know the main characters aren't in any real danger of being killed off. I thought May We Make Them Proud in season six might change this reviewer's tune, but I guess not. I am personally happy with the way this series was done. Not every series is going to be like The Walking Dead where a quarter of the cast is killed off every year and the main character's personalities do a 180. |

It was originally listed as one two-hour episode in the TV listings of old newspapers from February 4, 1980. I don't know why May We Make Them Proud was split into two episodes on the Blu-rays while the two-hour The Lord is My Shepherd from season one was left as one episode on the Blu-rays. All I can think of is that The Lord is My Shepherd was always going to air as a two-hour special while May We Make Them Proud may have been shot as a two-part episode before NBC decided to air it as a two-hour special.

The opening credits look partially new. The Part One is clean and stable. The Part Two opening credits look new as well. I am not talking about the standard credits but the episode specific credits. Not sure why they would change anything for the blu Ray. Several other two hour ep. are correct on these sets.

So are those episodes uncut though? It's not a syndicated cut version is it? They've been so good with these releases being uncut.

Not sure. Someone described a short scene missing involving a customer at the restaurant. If you combine the two without duplicate openings/endings it runs 1 hr. 37 mins. That is consistent for the times. Also, there is no recap on part two, taking up extra time. The only reason I can figure that they split them is that was the original intent until the last minute when NBC turned them into a special. I thought they were using the NBC prints, so this is odd.

some extra scenes have been reported as missing, but those turned out to be only shown in Europe originally; so that has caused some confusion. All content shown in the US is apparently present on all seasons. so yes these bds are apparently uncut when looked at from a US television perspective.

I agree, but if they split these from a two hour show, there is a chance something was cut. They have been great presenting these as they were, which is why I am confused about this one. Maybe NBC showed the Part One and Two titles on-screen but cut the duplicate credits back in 1980.

Not sure why the HD release chose the two-part version, but as far as I know, nothing is different between the two versions besides the episode one recap. |
