I haven't found a place to talk about this in this forum except for a general section for DVD which i doubt any Indians are there. Thats why ive opened a thread here to get help. MOD, please pardon me for opening a thread here.

I have seen several prints of this movie and one of them is Pyramid. Many prints are censored in the beginning where Kamal Hassan will get murdered by the group. Ive actually seen one print where its uncensored but forgot which print it is. I would like to purchase but no idea which company released that print. Anyone care to help before i make the purchase? Please let me know a several companies that actually release this wonderful movie.

The Hindi dubbed version is uncut.

I recall seeing the GVI VHS print...which had the whole sequence intact.

Actually there's a Tamil print bro but just forgot who released it. One of all time fav movie. Sadly Ayngaran/API didnt release it, if they did definitely the quality would have been excellent.

Pyramid AV owns the rights for Blu-Ray. However there are problems with the negative. We hope to do a BD release, but no promises.

When he asks for the negatives, GIVE HIM THE NEGATIVES

On a serious note, PyramidUSA, talk to the people at the head office in Singapore and get this collab on the road. I'm sure if the end product is like any of Sunny's BD works (Chandramukhi was done by restoring the negatives) you're gonna make a whole lot of profit. Plus people will forgive you guys for what you did to Baasha

I dont even mind if the quality is something closer to Muthu BD by Maxam Japan as that was transferred from negatives. I bet sunny can even restore better than that.

Also, don't get your hopes up for a Blu-Ray of this film.

I think if you post youtube videos as an https link, it is not seen on the page. I could not see the link till I corrected it as an http link in my quote.

One has the negatives and the rights, the other is willing to bring an excellent result out of it by restoring it, so both combined to release the Bluray, whats so impossible about it? Nothing is impossible as long as both are on the same track to make it happen.

Impossible? No. Improbable? Definitely.

Looking at Pyramid's track record over Blu-Ray and DVD, they have never been willing to spend the money required to make an even halfway decent product. Sunny definitely has the will and the skill to oversee the project, but that's only half of the equation.

Most modern movies will never get a Blu-Ray release, so the chances for older films are much smaller.

Its not a matter of $$. It's a matter of the market willing to recoup our investments. We have found that there is not a huge market for old films on BD. We do not have enough market share to make them at a low price to make up for the remastering, artwork, replication, etc.. We are looking into more BD's, however I am not the decision maker.
