Hopefully it's a new transfer. I heard the US release had issues.

There were no problems. It's a great transfer.

I had the US release and noticed a little sync issue with the opening monologue, I then grabbed the French Digibook and the issue didn't look as bad but it was still there.

I think the sync issue in the US release was dependent on which player you viewed it in, for some reason. It looked a bit off in my Panasonic, but fine in my PS3.

I noticed the sync issue straight away on my UK edition :-(

My player is region-modded Onkyo

So it seems both US and UK are plagued with this synch issue then.

The US disc is region free, so it's probably the same disc with a different label...

I have a region modded Oppo and never noticed it on the US disc on mine, though I only watched the first half of the film at the time.

I have no idea what the issue is but it clearly isn't affecting everyone.

Does anyone know if the UK sync problem is just with Annie Hall and not Manhattan too? I doubt it'd be the same with both just checking before I buy Manhattan. I'd love to get Annie Hall too but not if there's a problem with the transfer...is it really noticeable?

This issue only affected Annie Hall. And apparently skipping the chapter back when playing starts fixes the issue. It was an encoding glitch. MGM should have offered replacement discs but this issue is present on both the US and UK editions of Annie Hall. It did not affect Manhattan or the other Allen releases.

I wasn't aware that there was supposed to be an issue with Annie Hall, nor did I notice it when watching this disc a few weeks back.

I would get this solely on Christopher Walkens performance.

I've watched the BD at least 3 times and have never noticed a sync issue either. US disc on a PS3.

I might just go for it you know. Transfer issues have put me off getting One Hour Photo as well but are these things really that noticeable? They've got to be better than the DVD copy right?

Like I said I did not notice any issues with my copy so it could be a player related issue or maybe I'm just that dense, however the transfer in my opinion is beautiful. It's definitely worth the upgrade.
