Default Itunes Movie ID question.

Hi !

Quick question here. I would like to switch my USA itunes to canadian itunes. I just want to know if i bought a bunch of movies on the canadian itunes if its will go back to usa itunes. They share the same ID numbers for the movies. ( from usa and canadian store)

thank you.

Not sure about the “id” question but iTunes purchases are not shared between countries. Nothing would transfer from your US account. It is easy to set up two different accounts though and just switch back and forth with profiles to see both ids movies.

Just tried it.

Bought this morning the movie UHF on the usa store.

id354641950 same id as canadian.

I switched to the canadian store after. I am still able to play it on the canadian store. I did lose all the movies not shared with the same id.

But the movies from my moviesanywhere did not port in canada. In usa 2945 movies and canada 1040 movies.

Will be cheaper purchasing for me paramount and mgm titles that share the same movie ID. ( In Canada) and switch back

what you describe should not be able to happen. what device are you using?

have you downloaded UHF to the device? I think maybe you have switched stores but are actually laying it from your own library

If you’re changing to a different region via the same account then yes some movies will still be available when you switch, others however may not.
It all depends on the specific license agreement for each movie between regions.

I asked some people on the facebook group. A guy told me he bought dick tracy from the canadian store. The genetic code for the movie is : Id 442917053. Same as the USA store. After, he changed the country in itunes to usa. Linked the itunes to moviesanywhere. Dick Tracy ported to moviesanywhere.

It is interessing for canadian users like myself with the shitty exchange rate right now (usd/cad).

I'm confused.

How can a person use the same AppleID in different stores?

I did not downloaded UHF to any devices. Purchased from the USA storefront. Switched back to my canadian address. Was able to watch it with my appleTV with Canada country under Account Information.

You can change the country like you want with no restriction in Apple. The only downside you need to have 0 credit and no active subscription.

Okay this something new to me.

I have subscriptions on my Irish account (my main one) and my US & UK accounts are mostly for TV and switching accounts is easy now on AppleTV but this setting would have been useful to know about years ago
