Default Ever read the screenplay before seeing the movie?

I bought the screenplay for Tenet, it arrived yesterday. I was contemplating whether I should read it before seeing the movie (I have tickets for Monday the 31st).

I never read a script before seeing the movie, only after I saw it and was already a fan. I own all of Nolan's scripts (as well as hundreds of others)

So, I decided to read it! Took me last night and some of today to finish. It is really good!

But the reason I read it was to get some of the confusion that may set in from the actual movie out of the way, this way I have already analyzed it, and can simply enjoy the movie without being confused by any twists.

Also, whenever I read a script of a movie I already saw, I read it in the voices of the actors that played the roles and I see the action from the movie in my head as opposed to creating it in my mind.

I really enjoyed reading Tenet with only the minimal footage I have seen from the trailers (and the prologue i saw in Imax before Star Wars or Joker, dont remember).

I know John David Washington's voice, but was able to read it without his performance being in my mind.

Now i can not wait to see this movie even more (only movie i am willing to venture out to theaters to see during this pandemic)

So, just was wondering if anyone else has ever read the screenplay (or even a book made into a movie) and how that helped or hindered your viewing experience.

Bits and pieces here and there. Off the top of my head I read one for Deadpool and another, which I'm not allowed to say. Don't even bother PMing me asking what it is either.

I started to read Whit Stillman's script for Love & Friendship but couldn't get through it. Much too boring.

I have read the Halloween Kills script. Other than that, no.

Although, i have been tempted to buy the VVitch screenplay book from A24

I read the script for Only God Forgives before seeing the movie. It was a bit more complete and more defined complete than what the movie let on.

No, but I read the novelizations of Return of the Jedi, Aliens, and Batman (1989) before I saw the movies.
