Default 4k Multi region blu ray recommendation UK sub £300

I'm after a 4k multi region blu ray and DVD player under the £300 mark and was hoping the folks on here could give me some recommendations.

Even though I don't currently have a 4K TV I thought I may as well get ready for the inevitable.

I'm basically looking for a modded player (no codes) that'll play anything I throw at it. It needs to play blu rays and DVDs from any region (I've heard some players struggle with titles released by Shout) as well as BD-R and BD-RE discs.

Any help and information would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on your needs for a 4K player, it's sometimes cheaper to buy a standard unmodified one and a modded Blu-ray player.

I have the LG UP870 and it has played everything I can throw at it. Got it for $229 thru Amazon but from 220 Electronics. You can read the review of it over at CNET.

It's always worth checking, as you pay a bit of a premium to get a 4K player region free.

I don't know if there are any 4K UHD players that can play region free DVDs. You may have to get a separate region free Blu-ray/ DVD player, and I doubt it will be 4K.

I bought an LGUBK80 from mrmdvd.com (based in the UK) for £249 which is a UHD player that will play standard blus from all three regions (where you select which region you want, and it's limitless selection as well), and will also play DVDs from all regions (it automatically detects it, so just put in the disc and play). It even plays the few VCDs I have without issue.

They're out of stock at the moment, but it's their most popular player so they'll get them back in eventually, and in the meantime they have a few other LGs and Panasonics that fit the bill.

I've been VERY happy with my LG.
