Default Disney's Gargoyles

I have been spending the past few months tending to some unfinished business from my childhood. That unfinished business being...

When I was a kid I did not understand TV schedules, nor did I own a TV, so I was at the mercy of chance when it came to watching my favourite tv shows. I could only do so while at a friend's house, and even then I would wind up having to watch the same episodes on repeat over and over, wondering when new episodes would air. Due to these circumstances, I never got to complete Gargoyles, but now I am FINALLY getting to do that thanks to Disney+

All I can think is that people have been sleeping hard on this show because I don't see it being talked about very often. I think this show is actually ahead of its time and I am hoping that it's being available on Disney+ will lead to a Gargoyles renaissance. What are the chances of a Blu-ray release?

I would love a Blu Ray release for this...and many other Disney animated shows. But with the exception of Gravity Falls(wich was outsourced), no Disney animated show has gotten a BR release.

Well, that isn't promising. Thus, I am hoping for the aforementioned renaissance so that Disney will not be able to resist the money.

Been watching it for the first time. 2/3 into Season 2. I gotta say, it's really good, it got me hooked, but it's not THAT good. Much inferior to Batman The Animated Series, but still, it's very fun.

It's got GREAT storylines. Great animation (those backgrounds!) and great voice actors. On the other hand, the action scenes are pretty bad, music is nothing compared to Warner Animation's in the 90s, and the laser weapons and such just are a terrible contrast to the overall look and feel of the show and feel forced in by corporate.

Still very good so far!

I noticed the action can be awkward, but everything else I love. I love how the concept of wyrd influences the plotting. It reminds me so much of Dark, Undone, Cloud Atlas, and Arrival.

I just finished Season 2. Overall great show! One of my all-time favs. My only complaint is that the World Tour arc was a mixed bag and Disney cancelled it (fail!).

I feel like I found a missing piece of my childhood by re-watching this thing.

Demona is best girl.

Now gimme that sweet, sweet Blu-ray release, Disney.

I second this.

Also, they didn't cancel it. They later made a third season titled "The Goliath Chronicles" but it was so bad, they might have well canceled it.

Technically, Disney did cancel it.

Then when Disney bought ABC, ABC expressed interest in it and made the third season w/o the series creators.

Apparently the creator of Gargoyles is interested in working with Jordan Peele on a live-action adaptation of Gargoyles:

Unfortunately, Disney doesn't seem too keen on Gargoyles. Which makes me think a Blu-ray release of the series is a pipe dream. You'd think in the age of franchise film making something like Gargoyles would be totally something Disney's audience would be into.

Keen on it or not, it wouldn't have gotten a BD release, they barely even do DVD releases of their shows to begin with lol

That makes me so sad.

I hope Clone Wars Season 7 doesn't fall under the no home video release policy.

I can only pray Clone Wars falls under Lucasfilm's jurisdiction. That's a subject for a different thread, though.
