Default OK, I have decided that Paramount...it is time.

Universal is nice and all, but at this point in time Paramount needs to jump.
I know that Sweeny Todd and Beowulf will be importable but I do not think that will be needed.
And after seeing Cloverfield last night I really look forward to that also, as well as Iron Man and I seriously want the Jack Ryan movies on top of that.
SO Paramount...do not make me send in the clowns...

Iron Man is a must have on Blu-ray. By the time it hits DVD, Paramount should have already dropped HD.

It's just a matter of time, just wait it out. By the time those movies come out Paramount should have defected. ^^

Iron Man looks like it will be really good. I could care less about owning Cloverfield...the style works great for the movie, but it was tough for me to get through.

Right now, I don't care too much about Paramount as I already picked up most of their movies I wanted before the announcement came down. Here is Canada, you can still pick up a lot of Paramount titles in Blu-ray at brick and mortar stores.

I'd like to see Universal switch and see Ken G. eat crow.

First let me say this: OokieSpookie, You are in my top 5 all time favouite posters. I love reading your comments with a sarcastic tone. LOL every time! All of this movies are a must have and will be on blu soon enough. It's difficult to stare at a brick wall day after day with no indication that it will fall at some point. But we have seen this happen with Warner. One second it is there and in a flash, its gone and green fields as far as the eye can see. Paramount and Universal simply are not able to sustain DUD exclusivity anymore for a plethora of reasons. Far too many to even begin to discuss here, but they have all been discussed on this site. You/We on this site are an intelligent and perceptive lot. We DO become impatient for this to happen, but rest assured.... it will. Transition is a difficult thing, but I'm glad I'm on this side of the fence of transition instead of the otherside. The Paramount/Universal wall will come down this year and then the dust can begin settling.

Eh, I really want Shrek 1 and 2 on blu. I wonder if it'll get a release before 2008 is over.

(I dunno, maybe it's the Sweeney reference involuntarily provoking the Stephen Sondheim fan in me, but...
Hands up, how many actually DO know what "Send in the clowns" refers to, even if they actually know the plot and source material of "A Little Night Music"?--Geez, that's one of those common misinterpretations that drives me up the wall!)

I know that paramount is coming out with some pretty important movies, but like other people have said, Warner Brothers is distributing Paramount's movies in a lot of non domestic regions....

So we will be able to scoop up a lot of movies until they come back to the blu side of life by importing them....

Actually, it might even be better for us since Paramount has something against offering their movies with loseless audio, and Warner is known to throw in a loseless audio track on its major releases....

Universal is the more important win I feel. Universal has been a huge staple for HD-DVD, and to lose them would be both a loss in content and in spirit....

This brings up a good point. Refrain from DVD purchases and wait for BD only. (Personally, I can't stomach DVD quality anymore. Up-scaled just dosen't cut it.) For every DVD purchase made on a title, it only adds support to guess what?... Yup! That "other" format and sustains it longer. If we the HD forrunners don't do this, who then? Dollars are the bottom line, and the sooner we can help the push for total HD support by all studios, the sooner we will have all movies on BD.

behind you 100%.

we have basicaly won the first battle in the format wars with hd dvd but the true war will be overcoming dvd.

dvd just plain sucks after watching a few blu's, i have personaly convinced a few people to go blu just by inviting them over to watch a movie on my 1080p display.

Only a matter of time, this year Paramount has at least 3 movies coming to the cinema that I'm looking forward too.

Iron Man
Star Trek XI
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull
