Slipcover Case for Blu-Ray?

All,

My case feels so naked without one . I love slipcase cover like the one from Crank, The Cars, Ratatouille, Pixar Short Films, Hairspray, etc.

Why don't they make it standard to include them? Or why are they being selective to include in certain movies? It's almost standard to include a slipcover case in regular DVD...but not Hi-Def?

Any online site making custom made slipcase cover for sale? Hint hint...I hope someone out there with the experience and knowledge to start producing them as I'll be the first in line to order them for all my movies. I would like to dress them up so it doesn't look so plain on the shelves.

Any information is appreciated.

I to like slip covers but I dont need them on all my movies. That being said, since Hairspray has a slip cover is Shoot 'em Up supposed to? I dont know how New Line is doing their releases and I picked up the last Shoot 'em Up from Best Buy and we all know how that is, someone could have stolen it or it could have gotten damaged or someone bought the movie and returned it without the slip cover.

Like I said, I dont need a slip cover but I do like them when they are available. So does anyone know?

Also, props to New Line for including cover art on the inside of the case like Disney, Sony, and Lionsgate do. Warner and especially Fox need to jump on that bandwagon. opening your blue tinted see through case and seeing some cheap lookin white on the inside is getting tiring. (But its not as though Fox isnt a great studio with great transfers).

Meh...the less packaging, the better, if you ask me. Less rubbish in landfills in the future.

I did like the packaging for POTC 3... nice texture.

I take all mine off. they are sitting in a box in the back.

While I'm not a conservationist or anything, I can't stand the slip covers. I take all mine off and throw them away when I get them. That includes the boxes the box sets come in. Just give me the Blu plastic case!

Slipcovers are there for 2 reasons

1- They allow more attractive packaging. Embossing, gatefolds and such to be better eyecatchers

2- They make shoplifting by stealing the disc out of the box virtually impossible.

I only like Slipcovers on films I really like... just to pretty it up but I wouldn't need one for TMNT or something like that.

No offense to the people that love them, but they are just garbage that's thrown out once I get home. One of the reasons (maybe an anal one) I like Blu ray over dvd is the nice uniform packaging so my collection looks clean when displayed. The slipcases look tacky in my opinion.

im not a big fan of them i throw them in the bin i do like boxes for boxsets though but slip covers are'nt my cup of tea.

I used to like them on my DVDs but they actually defeat the whole idea of having a keep case to protect the insert and disc. It is just a piece of cardboard or plastic that will become worn over time and cannot be replaced like a keepcase.

Except, that, the slipcover is typically not shrinkwrapped. So it adds one step [that does not generate noise].

They VAP, quite simply.

To be fair, I'm thinking of the slipcovers that were used by the Disney titles and Dracula/etc. You could have a slipcover that's under the shrinkwrap [defeats some the points of #1, but it's possible]. You could also have a slipcover with a bit more of a trap to hold the shrinkwrapped case in so it's does have some extra steps, but that's consumer frustration usually.

i think slip covers are a waist and they look very tacky. Also more of a pain to get the movie out.

I was at the local PX and they had copies of SawIII with and without slipcases, and the slipcases were under the shrinkwrap. How peculiar methinks.

i remember my first slipcase,

it was stargate atlantis,

i picked up the box for the first time,...the disc case fell through and smashed on the floor.

never liked them since,...

Ditto....

If I buy a disc with a slipcover, it's immediately tossed in the garbage upon opening.
