Severance (2006) on iTunes is in SD

Director Christopher Smith's Severance is on iTunes in SD. It is a sort of comedy/horror film - "During a team-building retreat in the mountains a group of sales representatives are hunted down one by one." Starred Danny Dyer, Laura Harris (personal fave), and Tim McInnerny.

Seemed strange that this film was not in HD, since it is a film from 2006. A film, not, say, something shot on VHS.

So I wrote to Magnolia Pictures asking them if they could send the HD file to iTunes.

"We don't have Severance in HD on iTunes. It's SD only"

Yes, exactly my reason for writing - iTunes only has Severance in SD.

That is why I suggested sending the HD version to iTunes.

So there you have it, forum members. They're still learning to bang the rocks together, as it were. To be a little more charitable, the only HD master we know exists for sure is the 1080i/25fps one used for the German BluRay, which would not be what iTunes in the US needs. Presumably there is a 1080p/24fps master file as well, but who knows.
