Default Rocktober Blood (1984) and Rocktober Blood 2: Billy's Revenge

An IndieGoGo campaign will be launching in April to fund a sequel to Rocktober Blood. One of the perks is a Blu-ray of Rocktober Blood transferred from a 35mm print.

An Early Bird special is being offered now for the Blu-ray package.

Note that a standalone perk just for the Blu-ray will be available when the campaign launches.

Current word is that the Blu-ray will be a BD-R, though nothing has been officially determined or stated yet.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm...

I think that they may be reaching high with the supposed fan base of this one.
I like Rocktober Blood, and I'll buy a Blu-ray immediately, but a sequel? In 2016? Right.

The blu-ray only option is now live! $50 for the blu-ray and the soundtrack! I've pledged, i have little interest in a sequel but the blu will be a welcome addition to the collection!

I just said the same thing on Twitter.

I suppose I'll support the campaign to get a Blu of the first but...

They're out of their mind with those prices.

I wouldn't buy that for a dollar.

This movie is a real stinker, and I have a fascination with bad movies, so that says something. Hipster kids will love it though.

Yep. The Dead Next Door was a three disc set on pressed discs and was $35 I believe. $50 is insane for BD-Rs!

Yeahhhh, can't justify $50 for that at the moment. If it's not a BD-R and that transfer + sound are pristine, it could be a maybe. I'd still like to have it of course, but as of now that's a big nope. If they offer a separate CD soundtrack for a reasonable price, maybe I'll go for that.

Excellent point when mentioning The Dead Next Door, which JR knocked out of the park with a fantastic A/V presentation and a ton of extras. Totally worth the money.

I don't expect that level of TLC for this, but everyone's right here -- $50 for a BD-R is pretty absurd.

Maybe they'll see what people are saying and tweak prices when the campaign actually starts, as I'm interested if the price is right..

Yeah, it was one of the best releases of 2015! I hope you're right about them tweaking the prices, as I'd love to pick this up, but it would have to be a lot cheaper, and preferably on a pressed disc.

Out of curiosity, what is the source for the BD-R rumor?

Someone from The ScreamCast podcast who shared the story on various FB pages, responding to comments. They were the first to get news on the story and seem to be working together on the campaign.

As I said, nothing has been finalized and the campaign is still in the works, so I would direct any constructive feedback through the campaign page.

I've also updated the original post with The ScreamCast Announcement, as well as the Rocktober Blood Facebook page where further inquiries can be directed.

I personally love the film, and have been waiting for it to hit DVD/Blu for years now.

$50 is pricey , but at least the proceeds do go to their Greyhound charity. I know it's "their charity", but it's legit.

It has its moments, so I think it's worth more than hipster fodder. But a masterpiece, it's not.

Not yet, no. There isn't much information at all right now it seems like.

I'd really like to hear some more details about the release before ordering also.

I'm a little "iffy" on the language in their BD description:

Quote:
Here is the first original Rocktoberblood Blu-ray mastered from the original movie negative digital 1 inch studio master.
Given that the Sebastian's previous "Panama Films" releases have all been ported from tape masters, this has me a little hesitant to drop $50 without further information...

I don't think anyone will say it's a masterpiece anyway. But they will buy it if they like the movie.
