Default Sony Bravia question - Hope I can find help!

Hi all. Sorry if this is an OT question but I can't find anywhere else to turn. I am hoping the community here can help me.

The wife and I just purchased a 32" Sony Bravia LCD HDTV model - 32M3000

After I installed it and turned it on I noticed something odd. On the top of the screen, slightly off centered to the right, there is what appears to be a green hash mark? or a green digital mark? I reall don't know how to describe it in technical terms other than it looks like a green half-moon. It is extremely small, but highly noticable on a black or a white screen (not so much on a blue screen).

Has anyone else experienced something like this on their tv's? Could this be from damage to the tv? Or might this be a simple problem that can be resolved?

Any and all opinions and advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you,
Jay

Well it should not be there, duh. Could be some fixed pixels, the best thing would be to return the TV or call sony repair servise, returning would be the best.

Somethings to try be for. Make sure there is no straylight that could be doing this. 2nd in the menu goto the Custom settings then too Advanced Setting, goto White Balance, drop the Green on Gain(white) & Bias (black), see what happens.

I think I'll call Sony tomorrow...DUH. Thanks for your "help" and obnoxious reply.

To think, I honestly thought I could find some useful suggestions here.

yes, that should not be there. My buddy had the same problem with a sony 40". He took it as a bad omen and ended up with a samsung 50" for the same price. He seems happy. I don't know what causes the burnt in image though.
