Default Home network help (NETGEAR)

It's a long shot, but can anyone give me insight on some issues I'm having with my internet at home? I'm paying for 600mps and only getting 300mps with Xfinity and I'm utilizing a Nighthawk C7800 modem/router combo. Xfinity swears its the modem and I just can't figure out configurations. Thanks if you can help.

This is a wired connection? If you can't resolve the issue, I try asking for a reset.

Are you wireless speeds higher?

It could be a bottleneck, but I would have thought it would be capped to closer to 100 if the wired connection was the issue.

Install the Netgear Nighthawk app on your smartphone or tablet and you can access configuration information and settings easily. Your gateway doesn't have SpeedTest in it's software, but the app might let you do it. The cable connection between your gateway and the Comcast infrastructure may also be sub-optimal due to a bad line or amps or other issues, giving you lower speeds, which means you need to have it properly sorted out.

I tried downloading the nighthawk app and it says my device is t a nighthawk...that was confusing. I’ve troubleshooted my device with xfinity and netgear for more than 2 hours each. Now my internet is between 100 and 250mbps and I’m paying 600mbps. Have it a break before I try to spend more time with it. Might try a different modem/router combo later.

Have you tried the Netgear forum? you might find more specialized help there. If you can't get it resolved I'd consider dropping down to a cheaper package (as long as they don't have limits).

That makes no sense, as the app is listed on the software download page for your product and it clearly is a Nighthawk piece of hardware.
