I'm surprised this has never been released on Blu-Ray. I Love the Kids!
I'm sure this will be seen as Heresy, but I think this series is as good as it's Brit Cousin, Monty Python's Flying Circus et al... and that's coming from a YOOGE Python Fan (FYI: The New Python BR is Fantastic!!!). Great Writing, Acting and sometimes truly Bizarre Comedy. I love the Guys and their Skits. I especially Love their Repeating Characters. I love the Theme song, and I'm a huge fan of the Shadowy Men From a Shadowy Planet. It's All Good! Everything about this Show is Great! And... a few of these Boys make even better Women than the Python guys. Idle can be pretty cute as a Girl (Tracey Ullman thinks so too), but Dave is actually kinda stunning and hot... scary. And... Mark McKinney is the Co-Creator/Co-Author of one of my Fave-Rave TV Series: Slings and Arrows. Does anyone know if it's ever been available as High-Def Streaming? https://www.blu-ray.com/digital/The-...Digital/13912/ |

It would be expensive to release on Blu-ray. The stuff that was shot in front of a studio audience was on video, they would have to go in and remaster the filmed scenes and cut them back into the episodes. It would be simpler and cheaper than redoing an entire series in HD but it also has less appeal than a show that would benefit completely from beginning-to-end HD, so it’s a bit of a Catch-22.
Kids in the Hall Brain Candy, on the other hand, could hopefully be released some day. Shout Factory said they tried to license it but they couldn’t, hopefully that means somebody else has it. Death Comes to Town aired in HD but was only released on DVD, and obviously the new Amazon show will be in HD or 4K. |

I love Kids in the Hall. Seen em 3 times on tour. Its in my top10 Comedy or sketch comedy series of all time, including; Monty Python flying Circus, The Goodies, Saturday Night Love-Season1-5, SCTV, Benny Hill etc Hopefully with the New Series coming , there will be interest to bring onto Bluray. Python and other Brit shows from 60-70's shot the same way are being released on Blu ie hitchhickers guide, Dr.Who, so it can be done i guess we shall see. Currently Mill Creek as the dvd rights and streaming i think. I still have my A&E Season Sets which look fine on my 55 inch sony.

i bought the dvd set that came out a few years ago. it's good enough imo,a blu-ray release is not really necessary for something like this.
a blu for brain candy would be appreciated though |

You're likely correct, but after seeing how good the Python box looks... I can dream.
