Default HELP - Playstation 5 and Media Room Question

All,
I was lucky to get a pre-order, however I do have a burning question. I currently have a 4k Sony Projector in my Media room with an AV Rack in another room. Will the playstation 5 controller be able to work while the PS5 is in another room on my AV rack? currently the PS4 must be in the same room. Does anyone know? I have attached a YouTube link to show part of my set-up

Good question, I don't think we will know until it's in hand and tested.

The DS4 controller uses the ancient BT 2.1 standard where as the new DS controller uses the more recent BT 5.1 standard which should offer 4x the range of older devices.

But there can be a lot of things that could interfere with it, especially if it has to pass through walls. But BT 5.1 is supposed to be part of the Internet of Things so being able to pass through a wall should be more likely with this controller than the older one.

The official Sony Media Remote for the PS5 is Bluetooth (presumably) thanks to a built-in microphone for voice commands and has an IR transmitter for controlling TV/AV equipment. So long as you have an IR solution setup for sending transmissions back to the AV rack you should be fine.

Thanks

Couldn’t remember if the remote mentioned BT.
