Default Awesome trip to Best Buy

Well, today I went to Best Buy to see what was new and right when I walked in the door I had an awesome experience. I saw a gentleman talking to an employee, the one who sits right by the front door and greets people and watches the surveillance cameras. In the man's hand was a bag full of hd-dvd's. I couldn't hear much of what they were talking about but soon I saw the customer go to the customer service desk to return everything he had! It looks like he must have found out that blu ray was the way to go.

It's unfortunate that he didn't have blu ray to begin with, and I didn't see if he went to go get a blu ray player, but I thought that this was pretty interesting after reading on thedigitalbits that there has been a slew of returns at many stores of hd-dvd players and movies.

Whats up DaleJrFan. I just ordered my first 88 stuff. Maybe green wont be so bad. He is with Hendrick which means he will be kicking butt. Anyway I went to bestbuy the other week. An employee was telling a customer that there is no difference between the formats. I just shook my head and the customer say me and bought Blu anyway. Maybe JR will win his first championship.

.... I heard the whole conversation..... He was wondering why he couldn't get these defective HD-DUD's to play on his DVD player.

Nice... I'm heading over there in a while to Best Buy, maybe I will see some people returning HD-DVDs. Plus so Blu-rays flying out the door, would put a smile on my face after a long day.

I try to stay out of Best Buy. It pains me to look at the HDTVs I can't afford and now I always seem to walk out with a new Blu disc title, further depleting my limited funds.

I'm starting to think that alot of that 15 of 85:15 might just be confused consumers buying hddvd's for their dvd player.

Meh, I went in there tonight, but it was fairly dead, no major returns to speak of. I did see one person picking up a couple of Blu-rays. The section is still 3/2 Blu ray, hopefully to expand soon.

The HD DVD returns are causing a good laugh for the employees at the BB I work at because we no longer have room for them all. Every time someone tries to walk out of the department with one, we stop them, go over the benefits of BD over HD DVD, and show them to the BD aisle. We still have an A2 because all of the associates in the dept. know better.

...In fact, we are ordering BD players from other stores as we continually sell out. GO BLU-RAY!

Somehow I saw an A1 today as a open item.

It wasn't too busy at mine either, but the awesome return was cool. At my Best Buy (Knoxville TN) we have 7 sections dedicated to blu ray whereas there's only 4 dedicated to hd-dvd. Plus, I noticed that 3:10 to Yuma was sold out (awesome movie) and most of the hd-dvd side was stuffed full of movies where you could tell the blu ray side is seeing a lot of purchases due to many movies only having a couple copies remaining.

Yeah it's going to be a very interesting year with Dale Jr in the 88 car. I'm incredibly nervous because now I'll finally get to find out if Dale Jr is as good as I think he is. Luckily, now when I go to Talladega or Atlanta I will actually have a good chance of seeing him win races again. If he wins a championship 2008 would officially be one of the best years ever. As for Blu Ray related news, I wonder if Dale Jr will have a special paint scheme or do any special commercials for blu ray since he is now a part of Sony. It would be cool to see a Playstation 3/Blu ray car at the Pepsi 400 or the fall Talladega race.

Even though a lot of people hate NASCAR and don't watch it, there's a ton of evidence that suggests advertising in NASCAR works.
