I have a 5.1 Home Cinema setup on the loft conversion with a Cambridge Audio X201 Subwoofer and 5 CA Minx Min 22 bookshelf speakers for Centre (placed transversely), front and rear speakers respectively. Powered through a Pioneer VSX 933 Receiver, the audio is very good but obviously cannot provide the Atmos effect even though the Receiver is enabled for it.
Space and construction limitations rule out proper overhead atmos speakers and so the only possibility is to place 2 speakers on top of the front ones. But because of the compact size of the Cambridge Audio Minx 22 fronts, none of the purpose built third party "atmos enabled" angled speakers will work. The only option to me seems to get a pair of even smaller Cambridge Audio Minx Min 12 cube speakers and place them on top of the 22s, suitably angled towards the flat ceiling. I can get a friend to make the required wedges at the correct angle, but will the idea work? |
