"A lot of people keep coming up to me on the street," Shyamalan told us in a recent interview, speaking about his awareness of the film's slow reappraisal. He's so aware, in fact, that he's actively working on getting the movie a proper Blu-ray release at long last — even better, he's aiming for a 4K version to become available. When we asked if either of those options was in the works as we wrapped up a discussion about his new film, "Trap," Shyamalan responded, "I'm on it. Yeah, no, that's my next thing [...] That's interesting that you asked — yeah, I'm literally on it right now to get a 4K release."

I hated it when I saw it at the theater opening day but would like to revisit it. I remember the theater was packed and as everyone was leaving people were so angry at the film that they were cursing loudly. A Priest and group of nuns were there too and the Priest was asking people to watch their language. I have never been around so many angry people before. I mean I was expecting people to start ripping the seats out and throwing them at the screen. I saw it in Kansas so thay might have something to do with it.

I watched this a couple weeks ago on KScape in HD. Cinematography was WAY more impactful than I remembered. Considering the last time I watched it I bet it was on DVD & CRT so I guess that makes sense. Color palette and framing were both excellent. Audio was also great; immersive and chilling.

A 4K could be a real barn burner (presentation-wise at least).

I like the movie though despite it's controversial ending and will buy it when it's released. Considering the director's body of work, it's still in the upper middle tier level.

Love The Village! Once you get past the bait and switch of its twist (and the associated marketing back when it came out back in 2004), it's a very romantic and touching movie about grief, with sumptuous cinematography from Roger Deakins and a gorgeous score from James Newton Howard. Will be very happy to see this finally get a 4K UHD.

Not the best from M Night, but it boggles the mind that this isn't on bluray and Sixth Sense isn't on 4k.

I would say this is his most visually striking film, so I think it will look pretty great in 4K. I think I've only seen the film once, and I enjoyed it for the most part, and found the twist somewhat interesting. Not sure how it'll hold up on repeat views though.

Good movie but it was a let down that the creatures was fake. Signs is the better movie and that needs a 4K release.
