Default hi and thank you

I have a little story to tell. back in 06 i found out what hd dvds and blu rays were. i learned blu was sony and hd was tobisha, i easily turned into a fanboy, ive hated sony. so i chose hd but i didnt have an hdtv yet so i couldnt get a hd dud player yet. one of my friends had one and i was blown away by the picture. so for the rest of 06 and part of jan of 07 i was a dud fanboy. i said things like the ps3 is a joke and stuff.
then eventually about half way through jan a friend asked what the real difference was and i said well blu sucks. that night i had been a new frequent reader of hddvd.com so i checked out bluray.com that night changed my life. i realized the true power of blu ray. the next day i explained to my friends blu was better like disc space studio support. they laughed and i was the only blu supporter in the group and one of the few without an hdtv. so i became a frequent reader of bluray.com unlike my friends. the year went by my friends came to accept me supporting blu but they still didn't themselves.
then august 07 i got a sony xbr 4 46" my friends enveyed me. so i got myself a ps3, 60gb so finally my friends started to become nutreal but still hddud supporters on the inside. but the paramount insident didnt help things. so by holidays 07 my friends were all getting ps3s. now in 08 out of a large group maybe 20 to 30 people 1 is nutreal getting rid of his dud player soon and 1 is dud exclusive the one i mentioned earlyer the first of us to get into hd discs hes just a stubborn fanboy.
to celebrate my 1 year anivercery of reading here i became a member. all in all if it weren't for you good people me and all my 20 to 30 friends would be dud fanboys instead its the other way around except you people taught me to grow up and not be a fanboy so thanks thats my story
PS i hope you enjoyed my little story and i hope there werent too many spelling errors because im not good at grammer and i didnt check at all

That's the funny thing you don't have to be a Sony fan to be a bluer. I have a Samsung TV and 2 blu players and a PS3. The PS3 is the only Sony product in my house yet we are both big blu supporters.

We are going to buy a Sony 32 but I still wouldn't call us Sony "fans"

By the way welcome aboard and hope you become an active member.

the one that i said was purple is hardly purple he keeps his dud player just for the borne seires. but the red exclusive one i dont have such great news about hes just stubborn and says hddud will prevail. he has close to 100 hd duds some of my friends have close to 200 BDs. im kind of the runt of the group being the youngest and having the smallest collection which makes it more empresive that i could convice every one to go blu well almost every one. almost all of them have over 500 dvds so you can see from my collection why its even more suprizing that i changed most of their minds about hdm

Congrats, I love my PS3 also. Surprisingly I don't have an HDTV yet either but I will be getting one soon (I am in college and am having to save up some extra money).

Yeah, I can't wait until Resistance 2 hits. The first 1 was amazing and now #2 is going to be even better.

I don't care if you use that as your avatar. So if you want you can use it.

And punctuation marks.

But who cares, we have a new Blu owner in the house, who apparently has done a great job of getting others on board with HMD, particularly Blu-Ray!

Welcome to the forums, Blu boy.

You don't even need a Hi-Def TV. I've got a 27" tube and I still see differences between my dvds and their Blu replacements. Besides, when companies do a great job with blu releases - stuff like Blade Runner, 2001, Close Encounters, and David Glimour's Remember that Night are stunning.. even in Standard definition.

Cheers,

Doc.

I did this for a while until I finally got an HDTV. I too, noticed a difference.
