AV tech friends - I知 trying to solve a riddle before we take a plunge.
I want to get that LG CX 4K OLED with HDMI 2.1 since I知 getting a PS5. However... The PS5 has one HDMI output (not two - like their 4K players - which creates the issue I知 about to mention) and no optical outputs. Since 99.9% of receivers (my relatively new one included) do not offer HDMI 2.1 pass through, I either need to... 1. Buy a new receiver. 2. Wait for HDMI 2.1 splitters to hit the market (assuming they will). 3. Roll the dice on going PS5->LG CX->Receiver via the eARC port to get both a HDMI 2.1 video signal and a high res audio send back. Am I missing a workaround? Does three work the way I think it does? |
