What are good some documentaries related to film?

I'm mostly interested in documentaries about specific genres, but really this question is open to anything related to film (be it a particular movie, film maker, etc.)

LOS ANGELES PLAYS ITSELF, an amazing collage of LA onscreen, primarily in the film noir genre.

A few off the top of my head:

"The Kid Stays in the Picture" is a great one about the life and times of Robert Evans.

The Cannon documentary "Electric Boogaloo" is also excellent!

"Film Worker" is about Kubrick's right-hand man Leon Vitali and is slight but well-done.

"Life Itself" about the life of Roger Ebert is outstanding.

Just a few I can think of.

This is one of my favorites...

About the disastrous filming of The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996). It has some great first hand accounts about the antics of Val Kilmer and Marlon Brando on the set. Fairuza Balk shares how she asked Brando about rehearsing a scene together that they were going to film the next day. Brando responded something to the effect of "Don't worry about it, you are too young and beautiful to worry about such things." Then he looked to make sure no one was around and whispered to her, "I haven't even read the script.". Another great ancedote is about how Brando took an extra on the set and made him his "mini me". Great stuff...

. What Woody did with his adopted daughter was creepy for sure but I don't believe anything that psycho Mia has to say. Even her kids call her a liar. I think she went nuts after Woody dumped her...

"Empire of Dreams" was a good documentary, about the original Star Wars trilogy. It was first included as part of the 2004 DVD set, then ported over to the Blu-Rays in 2011. Lucas and most of the cast all contributed, and it was great to see their memories at the time.
