Anyone who's a fan of MST3K is probably well aware that Mike Nelson, Kevin "Tom Servo" Murphy, and Bill "Crow T. Robot" Corbett are still riffing away at bad movies with their downloadable rifftrax files that you play along with your favorite films. They've riffed everything from The Dark Knight to Avatar, and a many more in between. They also do Public Domain Films and Shorts that they eventually release on DVD. Well, interesting news. Two of these Public Domain Films are headed to Blu-Ray (Yes, I'm as stunned as you are) under the Rifftrax Live bannner. Awesome!!

I own probably about 50 of their various Rifftrax and about a dozen of their DVD releases. I'm actually kinda shocked to see the these being released on Blu-Ray. And only $11.99 a piece? A steal! It makes sense they're using the Rifftrax Live! versions for these, since they're broadcast in theaters. Hopefully more will follow if these are successful. I've seen the original House on Haunted Hill but never Reefer Madness. But they're certainly must buys.

I own every riff they've done, and all the dvd releases as well. Been a huge MSTie for around 15 years now. (Hell, my name and avatar are lifted directly from an MST3K episode.) The RiffTrax Live shows are a blast. I saw these 2 shows live, and cannot wait to pick them up on blu-ray. I was pleasantly surprised when I came across these on Amazon a few days ago. I knew they were considering it because they film the Live shows with HD cameras, but I didn't think they'd go through with it.

Any word about the laughing stock "Reefer Madness (1936)" being made available on blu-ray?

Just a friendly warning:
I found a "Reefer Madness" blu-ray product on Amazon Germany that is advertised as a "double feature" on the cover. With international shipping to the USA, it was expensive but I ordered it. Indeed, it contains both the 1936 & 2005 movies on blu-ray. Unfortunately, although the files are in a blu-ray format instead of a DVD format, the quality of the 1936 movie was typically low. Its *.m2ts file only occupied 2 GB, not enough to half-fill a DVD-5! |

Probably just typical delays from a small studio. One day they will just appear for sale on Amazon with no warning. I wanted to check out RM.
