Because I f****** abhor the 5.1 mix altogether. I still watch the original DVD release just to hear it, and this has scenes that aren't even in the later releases. So I wish for an original mono soundtrack on a blu-ray.

You might get a kick outta this. Not only did they restore the original mono mix in this clip, but they "fixed" the sound effects so that you hear the regular shotgun sound when Arnold shoots it:

I believe the supposed label that did have "The Terminator" dropped it due to having to wait on Cameron for a new transfer.
