Default Netflix's The Babysitter 2 (original cast returning except Samara Weaving)

McG (Terminator Salvation, Rim of the World) took on the horror genre with The Babysitter, a slasher film that followed a lonely, 12-year-old boy who falls in love with his hot babysitter only to discover that she’s part of a satanic cult that wants to kill him.

Samara Weaving carried the entire film on her shoulders and returned for one final scare in a mid-credits sequence, while Judah Lewis also survived the coming-of-age slasher. As we suspected, Lewis is returning for The Babysitter 2, although Weaving is not.

We also learned that the slasher will also star Robbie Amell, Hana Mae Lee, Bella Thorne, Emily Alyn Lind, Andrew Bachelor, Ken Marino, Leslie Bibb, Carl McDowell, and Chris Wylde.

Dan Lagana is confirmed as the new screenwriter. For those of you unaware, Lagana is the writer-producer of Netflix’s must-see faux docuseries “American Vandal”. So that’s a good thing.

In the Mc-G-directed sequel, “Two years after defeating a satanic cult led by his babysitter Bee, Cole’s trying to forget his past and focus on surviving high school. But when old enemies unexpectedly return, Cole will once again have to outsmart the forces of evil.”

Shooting begins October 14th in Los Angeles.

The first was amazing. I don't really know how a sequel would go without Samara Weaving though.

The first one was the rare movie I’ve watched, where I have absolutely no memory of anything about it.

I was a bit excited to a sequel, but without Samara Weaving, I'm not sure what the point is. I understand that she is on an upward arc right now, and may have to pick and choose what projects she does, so I guess I will wait to see what the finished product is like.

Yeah, the first one was awesome and Weaving made the film, so her absence in the sequel is dumb. They better have another breakout star otherwise it will go the way of McG's Goonies-like sci-fi epic that sucked ass.

I really enjoyed the first one. I thought it was lots of fun. And it was really sexy, too.

I'll miss Weaving in the sequel, but it still could be good. The cast looks like one I'll like. There is potential, with that cast and McG can still deliver now and then.

Samara was probably busy, and the filmmakers prioritized getting this movie out soon over waiting for her.
