Lifetime's Cruel Instruction

This new movie, inspired by real events, tells the story of 16-year-old Kayla Adams (Kelcey Mawema) whose mother, Karen Adams (Cynthia Bailey) is advised by the school’s counselor to send Kayla to get treatment at a youth residential treatment center after she gets expelled from school.

I had thought mental asylums were a thing of the past, but similar health units (more like "health" units) still exist while a lot of us aren't even aware of it. Watching this was painful to see these kids were being held against their own will and forced to do "stuff" they did not consent to.

Overall, it was a very good TV movie and its quality was higher than their usual Christmas movies (specifically the use of nonstop music which isn't present here, thankfully).
