Stargirl: The Complete First Season Blu-ray

Quote:
Synopsis:

Focusing on the character that started creator Geoff Johns' career in comic books, when he created her, lovingly inspired by his late sister who was killed in a plane explosion, new DC drama series, DC's Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to take up the legacy of a long-lost Super Hero team – The Justice Society of America – and stop the Super-Villains of the past.

I wonder why they’re releasing this on Blu but not Black Lightning.

Wait, no I don’t.

Day one purchase for me I'm really enjoying this on The CW hopefully we'll get the uncut episodes for episodes 1 and 2.

Because Black Lightning didn't sell well, and if this doesn't sell well, it won't be on BD for future seasons either.

WAC should've at least tried MOD BD for BL though, and judged it from there. I stopped buying all Arrowverse shows because I'm all of nothing with them, but since this isn't really connected in the same way, I'll most likely get it... as long as episode 1 and 2 are the longer DCU versions. It's been better than any of the other DC shows have been so far.

Is this show connected to the arrow verse or any other DC shows?

[Show spoiler]It's part of the Arrowverse. It takes place on Earth 2 though both Earths are unaware that the other exists

I've really been enjoying this show.Looking forward to tonights episode on The CW.

Surprised the Blu Ray was announced so soon before the season finished.

I'm assuming these will be the un-edited versions from DC Universe over the edited for time that airs on The CW.

Lots of DC blu rays coming in late August and September for me.

Batwoman Season 1-August 18

Deathstroke:Knights & Dragons Animated CW movie-August 18

The Flash Season 6-August 25

Supergirl Season 5-September 8

DC Legends Of Tomorrow Season 5-September 22

Stargirl Season 1-September 29

Yep, the unfortunate progression of declining sales apparently. Just like Warner's Shameless releases. Originally pressed BD, then MOD BD and finally the last season DVD only.

Default Stargirl: Complete 1st Season Blu-Ray

If you need to divert this comment/question to a Stargirl on Blu-ray thread, please do so.

One question I have about Stargirl: The Complete First Season on BD:

The DC Universe streamed episodes (all 13) of Stargirl range in length from 42 minutes to 53 minutes. Will we be getting those very same DC-streamed eps of various lengths on the first season BD set?

Only the first two were longer than what was on CW, but nobody knows yet AFAIK and probably won't until they've bought it and watched it.

Are these the extended cut episodes from DC Universe or the watered down CW cuts? Runtime is 567 which would suggest these are the censored cuts missing a lot of content... 567 ÷ 13 = roughly 43.3 minute episodes. A lot of these episodes were much longer on DC Universe.

I think it was only the first couple episodes that had longer cuts, then they made the deal with CW so the episodes after them were made with them in mind.

If that's the case, then I believe 567 minutes is good news based on the following episode lengths:
Ep 01: 53m 8s
Ep 02: 51m 5s
Ep 03: 44m 5s
Ep 04: 42m 53s
Ep 05: 43m 16s
Ep 06: 41m 9s
Ep 07: 42m 28s
Ep 08: 40m 40s
Ep 09: 41m 16s
Ep 10: 42m 17s
Ep 11: 43m 48s
Ep 12: 41m 16s
Ep 13: 40m 12s
Total: 567m 33s

Well, this is a nice surprise. My Stargirl Season 1 blu ray just came in two days early from Best Buy.Actually my DC Legends Of Tomorrow Season 5 came in a day early last week and before that my Supergirl Season 5 came in on time after it was tracking to arrive a day late.Maybe this is some good juju that came my way after my Batwoman Season 1 and Flash Season 6 came in way late due to being held up/lost in the mail.
