Default Where There's OLED Smoke, Is There OLED Fire?

This is bad news for OLED fans. Hopefully LG will correct this problem with South Korea models. USA models are in theory not infected, however some consumers disagree.

I guess I will keep my 12 year old 2008 Pioneer Elite Signature series plasmas for awhile longer (Maybe until 2026 then get a native 8K projector instead). The Pioneer plasmas never had a problem with starting on fire. Maybe the HDR with brightness being so high might effect the temperature of some flat panels.

Nope, it is only those listed and it's a power board fault, not the panel.

That is good to know, however panels do have a larger power drain on the power supply when there are brighter scenes being watched. Night and darker scenes have less of a power drain. HDR increases the panels brightness, and one day when tone mapping is no longer needed the panels will be getting very bright for some scenes in certain movies. Companies will just need to install better power supplies in flat panel screens in the future.
