Germany Grizzly (aka Red Machine / Endangered) (2014) - 02/27/15

Splendid announced the Blu-ray release of this much delayed animal horror / survival thriller "Grizzly" from the Director of Saw 5 - starring James Marsden and Thomas Jane - in February. Specs and extras TBA

I watched a rip of what I thought was this German blu and thought it was odd that the title card reads "Grizzly," while the artwork still lists the title as "Red Machine."

Someone did a remake of GRIZZLY?! And not THE MANITOU?!?!

By the way, is this still "a go"?:

Watched this last night, title card on the Blu-ray is Grizzly though it's packaged as Red Machine, stunning visually but some of the CGI toward the end is terrible. It's like something from a cheap made for Sci-fi channel flick, CGI fire with added CGI bear.

Great cast James Marsden, Thomas Jane, Billy Bob Thornton, Scott Glenn etc..

Average to fair Movie.

Agreed on the CGI. I hope that's why the U.S. release has been delayed. Hopefully, they are polishing up some of those shots in the third act. Some reshoots might also help things.

I felt that the movie was a missed opportunity. Like you said, the cast is incredible, but no one seems to have much interest in their performance. Everybody comes off as bored. Also, Thomas Jane seemed drunk as piss, delivering slurred mumbles more often than not. I kept waiting for a reveal that his character was a raging alcoholic, but it never came.

I see Brian Orndorf's theatrical review is up on the main page. So, let's recap. Originally called "Endangered," it was changed to "Red Machine," then simply "Grizzly." Now, apparently it's called "Inside the Grizzly Maze." Wow. Glad they went with the worst title of the bunch.

We're not even getting a blu-ray of this here in the U.S.

It's being released on DVD only August 4th.

You know. You'd think it'd be easier to find out if movies like this are region locked or not when they don't have a US release. Anybody have the German disc???

Playback
Region B (C untested)
"A" not being noted indicates it's been tested and it isn't region A friendly. Otherwise it would say "Region B (A, C untested)."
