"Murder on the Orient Express is a 1974 British mystery film directed by Sidney Lumet (The Verdict, Network), starring Albert Finney (Skyfall, The Duellists) as Hercule Poirot, and based on the 1934 novel Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie." The rest of the cast includes: Lauren Bacall (How to Marry a Millionaire, Misery), Martin Balsam (12 Angry Men, Breakfast at Tiffany's), Ingrid Bergman (Notorious, Spellbound), Jacqueline Bisset (The Deep, Airport), Jean-Pierre Cassel (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Army of Shadows), Sean Connery (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Thunderball), John Gielgud (The Charge of the Light Brigade, The Elephant Man), Wendy Hiller (Voyage of the Damned), Anthony Perkins (Psycho, The Trial), Vanessa Redgrave (Camelot, Atomement), Rachel Roberts (Picnic at Hanging Rock), Richard Widmark (Panic in the Streets, How the West Was Won), Michael York (Romeo and Juliet, Cabaret), and George Coulouris (Citizen Kane). The film was the 11th highest grossing film in 1974 and currently holds a 100% "Fresh" rating on the website Rotten Tomatoes. It received 6 Academy Award nominations (including a win for Ingrid Bergman and a nomination for Best Cinematography) and 10 BAFTA nominations (including wins for John Gielgud and Ingrid Bergman). The music score was nominated for an Oscar and won a BAFTA.
