This year simply blows. First Neil Peart, now Eddie.

Gonna miss his great work. Eddie and Dave, they will always be the best years for me. A Different Kind of Truth was like no time had passed. Glad they made it back together, it was well worth it. Little Guitars and Jump. Made me want to chase after the girl of my dreams (for the moment) and not let go. R.I.P.

When I was a teenager, a friend brought me over and said that I had to check out this band. He played Eruption and I was blown away.
I got their albums and was continually blown away.

RIP to one of the greatest!

I still remember that same kind of moment. 13 years old over at a friends house shooting pool, and he put on their first album. Halfway through Running With the Devil, I put down the pool cue and never picked it up again until I made it through the album a 2nd time.

KLOS is playing all Van Halen. My local stations are too dumb too do that. But I knew that already...

I was at a NAMM show in Chicago one year with my boss. He was the owner and main manager of a PA rental company based out of the Detroit area, so he got us invited.

My boss was unaware of who any of the famous folk were who just happened to be on hand to promote a brand of one item or another.

Eddie came by on Saturday to hype some new Van Halen-like guitars being made that particular year by Kramer Guitars. I told my boss, "Hey, please take this picture of me and this guy." We get my pictures taken just before his people whisked him away quickly.

The day before this? Yeah, those rumors are also true: I did party with John Entwistle the day before, right inside of the Chicago Field Museum.
