Looking for some guidance on my new TV please.
Its a 2020 model: LG 50NANO 796NE Having difficulty with the picture quality. I have a Sony 4k blu Ray player, 4k Firestick and HD Freeview set top box connected. Set top box seems fine, no noticable issues. If anything, picture quality is better via that than watching directly through tv. However, watching HDR content via the Firestick (Netflix, Prime, Disney+) the Image is quite dark and unwatchable at times. Doesn't matter if its morning or night, same issue. Even the 4k Blu Ray had poor viewing (i tried Revenge of the Sith 4k: Jedi v Dooku, Arresting the Chancellor and fight on Mustafar scenes and these were too dark) I have looked at a few sites regards to settings as i know LG out the box set up is not the best. I have done what was suggested via Rratings website for similar LG TV's (disable, adjust, increase, Vivid ect) but its made very little improvement to the darkness. Spent a week trying to get it to an acceptable level and tbh I'm ready to chuck the towel in and send it back. My 7yr old 4k LG (not HDR) had better image quality than this nano one, especially on external device content. Wondering if i need to move away from LG or if all HDR TV's are like this? Thanks for any assistance |
