South Korea The Chaser (April 27, 2011)

The Chaser has been a big success in Korea and is already available on DVD. So does anyone know when a Blu-ray edition is expected to be released?

i really wish that korea would release more blu-rays. i have the bd of taegukgi and i love it. i stayed away from the host since i have the hd-dvd of it and have not interest in buying welcome to dongmakol since i have already seen it on dvd.

along with the chaser, i'd like to see the public enemy films released, JSA, and nowhere to hide.

hopefully things will pick for korean bd's when it comes closer to release time for the good, the bad, and the weird.

The Good, The Bad, The Weird deserves a Blu-ray release. It was amazing, the cinematography should look pretty epic in HD!

I thought TGTBTW was already out on DVD though?

Just thought I'd bump this. I'm quite surprised 'The Chaser' isn't yet out on Blu-ray, and my appetite has been whetted as I've just watched 'Memories Of Murder' on Blu. Anyone heard any rumours of an upcoming release?

This observation isn't entirely correct. The film has not yet been released on Blu-ray in Asia, but it is already out on Blu-ray in France:

Hmmm... no English subs, and apparently 1080/50i according to one poster. I'll still be waiting for it to hopefully be released in Korea, Hong Kong, UK or US.

Looks like this is finally getting a Korean release by PreGM (source). April 25 is the tentative date. English subs.

Definitely a day-one purchase for me.....unless it's a direct port from the French 1080i one. That would truly suck.

The link I posted specifically says it will be a 1080p transfer and not 1080i like the French transfer.

It is great to see that they are using the original poster art for the coverwork.
