Warner Bros Point Break 3D Blu-ray (2015) [Region Free]

The poster confirms it:

Awesome i cannot wait, the synopsis sounds like a cool update as it's including a variety of extreme sports and i'm soooo pleased this is definitely in 3D. Bring it on!

Love the original, not excited for the remake. If the 3D is great though it may convince me to give it a shot.

Hey let's be optimistic, you never know. I don't think it would be hard to improve upon the original, or at least add an angle that makes it a worthwhile companion piece.

The skydiving parts in 3D should have big potential. Between this and The Walk, plenty of vertigo inducing scenes abound.

Yes, hopefully the 3D is strong for the skydiving and action shots.
Reeves was pretty good for the action role in Point Break 1.

I'm surprised this is in 3D, cool!

I'm guessing Warner Bros is not holding out much hope for this film with releasing it around the same time as Star Wars Episode VII, looks like one week later.

I'm surprised too, a very nice surprise! The trailer looks great, the action looks cool, the cinematography and locations look spectacular. This should be a lot of fun in 3D that's for sure.

It saddens me when studios can't or won't give certain movies more of a push. Why make them if they're not going to do their best to promote them well and give them a decent release slot?

It's called "cutting your loses."

And why make them? Because you average twit marketer that is green lighting stuff at the studios is too afraid to approve anything that doesn't have brand recognition or some form of nostalgia. - This is why you're getting so many useless remakes.

Also see... Moving Poltergeist remake up to Memorial Day weekend against Tomorrowland, Pitch Perfect 2 (week 2) & Mad Max Fury Road (week 2). Originally scheduled for July 24th against week 2 of Ant-Man, Trainwreck (Likely appropriately named) and the first week of Pixels (Debatable how this will do, but...). Also note it was moved from its original February 13, 2015 date.

I get all that but its makes no sense to make something based on name recognition, then just dump it out there all half assed.

Fair enough, but it's just wasting money for the sake of it. No company actually wants to operate like that so there must be more to it than meets the eye.

So, Keanu's going to play the role of Johnny Utah, right? Since he pretty much looks the same ...

I'm sure it will look good but the two leads seem very bland compared to Keanu and Patrick - time will tell. At this stage I'd rather watch a 3D conversion of the original

Yeah, I'm not feeling much charisma from the two leads. It seems to be a thing with remakes to cast nobodies and unknowns and rely on title recognition to sell it.

They also have some highly impressive stuntwork which could make up for it.

I'd be a lot more interested in this if they'd filmed natively. I came across an interview where they explained their choice was because they could do more with smaller cameras. Practicalities aside, I'd be more impressed if they'd gone to the trouble.

I like the actor playing Bodhi. Whoever is Johnny Utah though is terrible a delivering his lines. Makes me wish for Channing Tatum... And I don't really like him either.

Interesting trailer. Since it's in 3D, and if the 3D is strong, I'll give it a view in theaters if I don't see Star Wars VII 3D more than 3 times.

Agree. The timing is tough, up against Star Wars VII, though this might do okay among the action crowds.

The wings suits in strong 3D could look awesome. Most memorable trailer shot here for me is the guy on the dirt bike heading towards the camera with all the rock avalanche falling behind him.
