Default Does anybody else miss the audacity?

I know it was unpopular back then and I was in the minority, and it's probably why so many blu-ray releases seem a bit boring in comparison, but does anyone else miss the more audacious releases of the DVD era? Like the Anchor Bay Limited Edition of Bad Taste with the holographic cover and a whole second disc dedicated to just a dinky 30 minute documentary, or that absurd Showgirls box set that came with a whole bunch of tat like shot glasses and nipple tassles(!). There's something about the presentation of the pre-HD digital home video releases that I miss in the blu-ray era; the transfers not so much.

Maybe it's just nostalgia though, because I bought some random old 80s cartoon series which was only on DVD anyway and just holding a brand new DVD in that old style black keepcase gave me this weird feeling. I've thought of picking up the old Eurovista DVD of Cut-Throats Nine which had a really cheap looking sleeve design.
