Default Looking for UK BD titles that ARE Region B coded

Can anyone recommend a UK BD title that they know has region coding and is region B?

Preferably something that is available now, at least marginally interesting and maybe is not available in the USA.

But Region B for sure is a must. I want to test the region free - ness of various players...

Thanks!

Check out www.play.com.
One of the few retailers UK stocking BD titles at the moment.

As for me....live in the UK....importing discs from Amazon.com
Cheers

I am aware of Play.com.

Just want to make sure that I get a region coded disc.

It would be sad to go to all the trouble and end up with a region free disc!

Thanks for the pointer though.

It seems that the three discs currently available are not region coded.

I guess I will have to hope that some of the new ones coming out will be...

I've ordered Stormbreaker, Brokeback Mountain and Gangs of New York which are all out next week in the UK. I have a US player so will let you know if any have region coding. All the UK titles I have tried so far don't have region coding.

Great - thanks.

Gangs of New York is a potential one though I am not sure of its UK distributor (here it is Disney and they have been region coding from the start).

Gangs Of New York and Brokeback Mountain are EIV (Entertainment In Video) releases in the UK. Other EIV releases scheduled (according to various online retailers) are U-571, Spy Game and The Crow.

Keep us posted on the region coding for the titles above. If they don't have 'em (and no censorship issues), a lot of US BD owners might be interested in them, particularly Brokeback (which has no release date yet) and U-571.

This site has some useful information.

The most interesting part is that Hostel and SWAT appear to be labelled as region B but still play in region A players.

While it is far from any proof, it indicates that there may be some truth to the idea that Region A players can play A and B but region B players cannot play A.

I hope this turns out to be true...

I have both Hostel and SWAT (Emily Rose also works I believe - waiting for my disc to turn up to confirm) on region B Blu Ray and both play fine on my Region A player. Sony said that neither of these titles had region encoding on. Their policy is no region coding for back catalogue titles and region coding for new releases. This only applies to movies released by Sony Pictures.

It seems that while this may be their policy (and in fact what is on the disc) according to that site they are marked as region B.

I am sure that such mislabelling will be common in the early days...

And this also begs the question as to what the first 'new release' will be - Monster House perhaps? Sadly the 'new releases' cost more
