Oh man. Was just thinking we needed a thread to crap on this POS.

No way is this garbage getting a second season. Hype died after the first episode aired. Lol

Since the cover art’s not final...Funimation, please let Popuko and Pipimi flip us off on the front cover. If retailers taking issue to a “rude gesture” is a problem, cover their middle fingers with stickers that can be removed like the one edition of Panty and Stocking that had Panty nude on the front.

I would imagine it would be more like how it was with Master Of Martial Hearts where you have reverse coverart with an image you could never use on a series that would be sold in stores. Of course in this case it would be the middle fingers as the reverse coverart or inner print.

Of course Funimation will put minor errors in tonight’s episode on Toonami.

Solid Sphere released its Takeshobo Quest ~Kyōshū Poputepipikku~ (Takeshobo Quest ~Attack Pop Team Epic~) smartphone "game" on Wednesday. The game is based on Bkub Okawa's Pop Team Epic manga.

The game is free to play, but has in-game purchases. In the game, players gather together Takeshobo employees and aim to defeat Popuko and Pipimi. Players acquire employees by rolling gacha. The game's website describes the game as a "crappy game," and offers free 10,000 rolls for first-time players.

The original manga centers around two 14-year-old girls, the short Popuko and the tall Pipimi. The manga's television anime series premiered on January 6. HIDIVE, Funimation, Crunchyroll, AsianCrush, and Amazon Prime Video all streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Adult Swim's Toonami block began airing Pop Team Epic beginning the night of June 30. The anime will get a television special on April 1, 2019.

This show's a solid 7/10. Some misses with the jokes, but it's overall a good time. I'm surprised this aired on Toonami.

Sentai Filmworks announced on Wednesday that it has licensed "two special episodes" for the Pop Team Epic anime series. The company will stream the specials on HIDIVE this spring in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela.

The new special was announced at an event last September, and will air on April 1. Sentai Filmworks confirmed with ANN that the two-episode special will be the special that will air on April 1 in Japan, and will include two episodes of 30-minutes each.

Kamikaze Douga is returning to produce the animation, Jun Aoki is returning as director and writer, and Aoi Umeki is returning as director and concept designer.

The earlier Pop Team Epic television anime series premiered in January 2018. HIDIVE, Funimation, Crunchyroll, AsianCrush, and Amazon Prime Video all streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Adult Swim's Toonami block aired the series starting on June 30.

The anime adapts a surreal four-panel manga by Bkub Okawa that centers around two 14-year-old girls, the short Popuko and the tall Pipimi. April 1, 2019 will mark the second anniversary of the original announcement for the anime adaptation.

Update: Digital Media Rights told ANN on Friday that it will also offer the episodes as a one-hour special on AsianCrush, Midnight Pulp, and Amazon Prime. The special will simulcast on AsianCrush and Midnight Pulp on April 1, before debuting on Amazon Prime later that week.

Update 2: Crunchyroll will also stream the special episode on April 1 at 10:30 a.m. EDT. worldwide except in Asia.

Season 2

Quote:
A teaser video debuted on Sunday after Pop Team Epic Repeat (remix version), the rebroadcast of the Pop Team Epic television anime series, and the video announced that a second anime series has been green-lit for next year. The video stars two versions of Shōta Aoi, the voice actor who made a memorable appearance in the finale of the first series.

Crunchyroll, Funimation, and HIDIVE are streaming Pop Team Epic Repeat as it airs in Japan.

Crunchyroll describes the series:

Crude, rude, and a little…cute? Get ready for the larger-than-life attitude of Popuko and Pipimi, the small and tall stars of Pop Team Epic! Based off the bizarre four-panel webcomic by Bukubu Ōkawa comes a comedy that'll throw you off with its out-there jokes and intense absurdity. You think you're ready for these girls? Think again, F#%**er!

The original broadcast of the first series featured Masashi Ebara and Houchu Ohtsuka as Popuko and Pipimi in the first episode's first half, and Yuji Mitsuya and Noriko Hidaka as Popuko and Pipimi in the second half.

The first television anime series premiered in January 2018. HIDIVE, Funimation, Crunchyroll, AsianCrush, and Amazon Prime Video all streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Adult Swim's Toonami block began airing the series in June 2018. Funimation released the anime on Blu-ray Disc in North America in October 2018. Netflix began streaming the anime in the United States in February 2020, but originally with only half of each episode available. Netflix has since reuploaded the full versions of each episode.

The original anime's full episodes are each 23 minutes long. Each episode has two main parts with much of the same content. The two parts have different voice actors, as well as some different content such as altered jokes.

The anime adapts a surreal four-panel manga by Bkub Okawa that centers around two 14-year-old girls, the short Popuko and the tall Pipimi.
