Default In Search of The Last Action Heros (80's action documentary)

While I'm a little gunshy of Indigogo over Kickstarter, this project looks like it's well underway: In Search of The Last Action Heros, all about 80's action movies. It looks interesting if you're into that genre.

I've just asked about the discs, if they're burned or pressed, and if there's any region coding plans. Will update if I hear back.

EDIT
By the way, if you've gotten burned by the slap-dash nature of the process, this might help some:

Quote:
Hi XXX, In Search of Darkness has received a handful of complaints out of over 3000+ orders and we've offered replacements for backers who receive faulty/damaged goods. You're BR will be perfectly playable, and we hope you enjoy the film. If you do have any issues, please email support@creatorvc.com, and we can help.

kind of funny that they used an image of Van Damme from Universal Soldier (1992) for an 80's documentary.

This doc and In Search of Darkness are really cool. I'm backing both projects. I'd like to see more like them...

I enjoy Oliver Harper's YouTube work, so this should be a fun watch.

I saw this on Target.com for $13.29. https://www.target.com/p/in-search-o...y/-/A-78680953
Is this the same as the $39 one on Indiegogo?

Received my disc and poster today. Have not had a chance to watch yet, but I don’t see myself supporting any future projects by this person.
The disc is a BD-r.
It shipped from Asia in a plastic bag, so the quarter folded poster was further damaged.
The poster had cuts in it, after it had been folded(top and bottom).
The postcard was bent.
I could’ve printed a better jacket.

Win some, lose some I guess.

Same as the horror doc In Search of Darkness. I got that one last week and this one in the post today. Cheap quality cases and a BD-R, not really great for the price. I'm glad I only backed the blu-ray version and didn't pay even more for the extra stuff.

It's a shame really because both of the documentaries are excellent but the cheap quality of the physical versions really hurts the product, considering the cost.

Received it today, same crappy quality packaging and a BD-R as In Search of Darkness. After 15 minutes playback started stuttering and had to powercycle my standalone player to make it work again. Seems to play better on my PC with VLC

Mine still hasn't arrived from China. This is taking way longer to get to me than In Search of Darkness. Tracking system sucks for this China Post!

Sorry about bringing this to the community. Here's what they had to say about the screwed up Darkness documentary:

In Search of Darkness has received a handful of complaints out of over 3000+ orders and we've offered replacements for backers who receive faulty/damaged goods. You're BR will be perfectly playable, and we hope you enjoy the film. If you do have any issues, please email support@creatorvc.com, and we can help.

Of course they’ve only had a “handful of complaints” - people just started receiving it. I ordered near the end and haven’t received mine. This whole business is bs. Cheap cost cutting sh*t.

Don’t be sorry. It’s certainly not your fault. I’m happy to have this cool documentary in my collection, just wish a little more effort had been put into it.
I had the pleasure of watching The Toys That Made Us documentary over the holidays and it was very well done. I’m sure they had a much bigger budget than crowdfunding but on the same token given the option I’m sure most backers would’ve paid a little extra to have pressed discs and nicer swag.

Yeah, I know I personalty had nothing to do with it. Call it buyer's remorse I guess.

Yeah, mine showed up too. Crappy ass Blu-R, peeling label with bubbles, etc, etc. What a waste of 40 bucks.

*EDIT*
And of course the disc doesn't work. At all. A ****ing joke, this is.

well i’m annoyed at this whole thing because the FIRST thing i ask before i crowd fund a blu-ray campaign is if the disc will be pressed. if it’s not, i don’t throw in. i asked these guys about darkness and i was told pressed disc.

Yeah I think this debacle is really going to bite him in the ass in the long run. Who will buy the third documentary (Sci Fi) after this? I don't think I will, if I get an MOD disc in the mail. Good show or not, I'll just watch it on Amazon if the physical disc is not top shelf. If CreatorVC does not do something to rectify the Chinese DVR discs a lot of people received with something pressed, he will have some nasty backlash on these shows...

They got greedy, even after making well over what they requested.

I wonder if the amazon copy will be pressed? The cover seems different too. Ive backes three productions from crowdfunding, this, his horror doc and neither wolf nor dog. All them were burned and made in china so i thought thats how these went. But im interested in the amazon quality disc.

The Amazon pic is a burnt disc. The blu-ray logo is missing and in it's place the words 'Blu-ray disc', typical of a burnt (not pressed) disc.

I see someone above has said this was to do with YouTube user Oliver Harper. Is that who's made this? Iv come across his videos on YouTube, in the UK we had a very well known film review show on television that lasted for many many years, presented by a man called Barry Norman, and this Oliver guy sounds like he's trying to be just like him in the way he speaks in his reviews, or his voice comes across like he's impersonating him. He thinks he's the next Barry Norman, or seems to of been an influence on him.
