Default HD DUD Petition

I was poking around the HD DUD forum and noticed that they are "circulating" or have a petition to sign "We endorse the Save HD-DVD! (Warner Brothers, The Consumer Has Not "Clearly" Chosen Blu-Ray) Petition to Warner Brothers, Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures" They currently have 23 600 or so names. Although that number isn't high seems to me, I think we "Blu-Ray" users should also sign a petition to send to Warner Universal and Paramount to say the opposite I think the numbers will speak for themselves.

Welcome to the forums! I know you are new here davelistro, but a little helpful advice. There are already numerous threads about this. I suggest using the search function. It will save you time and getting ridiculed by some other memebers. As far as the petition goes, let them whine. Warner already chose their format and this is a last ditch effort on their part to feel better about themselves, because they know that hd dvd is a dying format.

Those online petitions are worth .. well .. nothing.
They can be signed repetdly by the same people with fake IDs, so... yeah.
And we all know how obsessive those HD DVD fanboys can be

Also, there are many signatures on there making fun of the whole thing. I don't think any online petition has helped do anything in the past.

If you really think that signing an online petition, which allows a user to sign as many times as they want given they provide a different email each time (which are free and numerous), is going to make any difference to a company like WB who can clearly see the 85/15 numbers, the 93/7 numbers, the increase in Blu sales, the year long lead in Blu sales, the 3 million+ PS3 sales, and in full knowledge that such a move would upset some people but any further move would confuse and enrage consumers, then I have a bridge in London I want to sell you.

That was the longest run-on sentence I have ever made.

But seriously, WB knows they would upset people. But WB would look FAR FAR FAR worse if they actually changed their minds now... especially since money speaks louder than online petitions.
In fact, name one time an online petition has made a real difference in a related situation. Not going to happen.

Besides, WB can see the news and knows the petition is out there, and yet they decided to extend the delay between BD releases and HD releases anyways.. tells me they don't give a hoot.
