Ok, I have never really had any problems at all in the six years that I have been buying Blu-rays. This one is a real head scratcher. My French imported Blu-ray of Silent Hill would not load at all. My Insignia NS-WBRDVD2 wouldn't load it. PS3 would not load it. Even my Pioneer BDXL USB drive would not load it. This disc is region free, I have had for two years and have never had any problems with it. However, I am over at my parent's house right now and tested it on their Samsung that I bought them for Christmas, loads right up without a problem. Can someone help me figure it out on why it's not loading on any of my players? I do not have internet at my home, so, it's not that. Firmware is up to date on my PS3, however, I cannot update the firmware on my Insignia because it will lock out my ability to change region codes. And the USB Pioneer is up to date too.

Good afternoon, I know this is an old thread and has not been answered but I'm facing the exact same issue, did you ever find a solution to this or at least an explanation? Unfortunately I do not own a bluray player, I own a ps3, ps4 and ps5 and have tested it on everything except ps5 and none seems to work. I'm gonna test it later in the evening and update if anything changes.

I've never experienced rotten media before but I googled it and seems nothing like the images I saw, disc seems clean as brand new. Tried on ps5 too nothing unfortunately, I guess it's got something to do with the encode idk..

Here's the relevant thread for the film. The original disc is the dodgy one. Later pressings seem ok apparently.

Sounds like a compatibility issue with your players. It's strange that it works on your parents' Samsung but not yours. Maybe try cleaning the disc or contacting the manufacturer for support.
