Lightbulb Am I Glad I own a PS3. IF this is factual, anyway.

That's got to hurt. Although one does wonder on the statistics for the PS3; the numbers for that console can't be ignored, if they are reliable.

The same firm said the PS3 and Wii were at under 3%.

wow safe to say thats an unacceptable amount, and i cant speak for the ps3 because i dont have one YET. but let me just say in my eyes this is no different then the disc read errors that plagued my ps2/ps1's. so far i have been lucky with my 360 "knock on wood" but it would be nice if companies actually tested their products before releasing them.

I;ve been quite lucky with Sony products. I have a Dec 1994 PSone SCPH1000 thats seen disc swaps, mod chips and what not. I've got 2 ps2 slims and a PSP from about a year ago, and nothing has gone wrong with any of them. The PSOne won't boot CDR's anymore because the laser went a bit wonky, but it still plays originals. I can't complain about that. I have a PS3, again nothing gone wrong. I have had many Sony TV's, nadda wrong.

Mind you, I've bought Nintendo and Sega products, again nothing wrong, some of them are over 10-12 years old.

I have never bought a Xbox or XB360, not because I don't like what it can do, but because I don't like bullying companies. The Xbox brand has never survived because its popular, its survived because Microsoft keep throwing more money at it. Mind you, America throws money at anything these days. I wish they would throw some my way

There really should be a class action lawsuit against MS.

Possibly, but since they exercised good faith by extending the warranties, don't think much can come from it, best hope are folks who bought replacement consoles in the timeframe between warranties.

The problem comes if MS is not replacing defective units. They can "fix" the bad ones with temp fixes until the warranty expires, then drop the customer like...Wal-Mart dropped hd-dvd. There should be re-engineered new product to replace the faulty old ones.

Refurbished/repaired is an acceptable warranty measure. You'd have to prove either incompetance or intentional awareness of faulty to serve their stated function.

fyi, if you flip the psone upside down then tap the bottom slightly while its loading it will work fine lol, this was my trick to make it through resident evil one

yikes 32% of the people that voted said their 360 crapped out on them while 32% said they dont own the console with only 13% saying they are in the clear...thats really sad
