In its third series right now but rather than starting to feel like it's running out of ideas, it keeps getting better and better.


They certainly gave it to Mark Rylance, or rather "The actor, Wolf Hall" and the "reasonable doubters" last night.

Robert Green (arch nemesis of Will Shakespeare): "If there's one thing I know about actors, particularly the subtle and nuanced kind, it's that because they put on funny voices for a living they be in constant fear the people will think them thick, thus will loudly champion any exotic theorem or obscure cause that comes their way in the mistaken belief that it'll make them look clever.....

The actor Wolf Hall is intrigued [at Green's suggestion that a commoner like Shakespeare could not possibly have such insight and poetry]
